FAQ:

WHAT DOES THE RE-START PROGRAM CONSIST OF?

 Our program is based on the Whole30 (whole30.com) which is a nutritional program available online for free for anyone! The Thrive Re-Start program is for people who need a little extra support, accountability, motivation and guidance. 

Additionally the Re-Start program offers a starter binder with instructions, recipes, grocery shopping list, pre and post-program metabolic assessment forms, and daily journal section.  One on one strategies to customize your plan, group meetings, an online forum for support, recipe sharing and other fun activities are also part of the deal!

We strongly believe that this short-term nutritional reset can to help you put an end to unhealthy cravings and habits, restore a healthy metabolism, heal your digestive tract, and balance your immune system.  Indeed we think it could change your life. 

“Certain food groups could be having a negative impact on your health and fitness without you even realizing it. Are your energy levels inconsistent or non-existent? WHICH FOODS WILL I HAVE TO AVOID?

Good question. But first; let’s look at all you CAN eat!!  Meat, seafood, eggs, tons of vegetables, some fruit, and plenty of good fats from fruits, oils, nuts and seeds (and yes, you can still have coffee; Whew!).  So, the 5 main things you will avoid for 30 days are: Legumes, Grains, Dairy, Sugar, and Alcohol.  With our guidance we can safely say you should not experience hunger or feel terribly deprived.  We will go over all this in much more detail at our Orientation Meeting. 

WHAT ABOUT EXERCISE?

While regular exercise is recommended in general as part of healthy living, this program is not an exercise program.  Some people find they have more energy and want to exercise more. Some find they can only do so many changes at once and maintain their normal exercise routines. While still others find that their energy dips as theirs bodies acclimate to the dietary changes and don’t exercise at all.  The great results we feel confident you will have do not depend on which of these categorizes you fall into.

BLOOD WORK; WHY WOULD I DO THAT?

Most blood work is done on an as-need basis, ie usually only once disease is already suspected.  Having a comprehensive look at numerous markers can help evaluate your health status and understand what patterns are arising to prevent disease before it occurs, whenever possible. While the cost is extra, we can’t emphasize enough the benefit of this, and what better time to do it than when you have already decided to Re-Start your life?!

CAN I PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM IF I CANNOT MAKE ANY OR SOME OF THE MEETINGS?

YES! You will still have all of the support you need to participate fully.  The weekly meetings are an optional bonus for those that can make it.

DO I HAVE TO BE A THRIVE PATIENT?

No! This program is open to anyone.

HOW MUCH WEIGHT WILL I LOSE?

This is not a weight loss program.  While the likelihood of losing weight is high, stepping on the scale during the Re-Start is also a no no. We will be focusing on all the non-scale health benefits you experience during the program, and when it’s all over you can have your scale back.

WHAT IF I RUN INTO TROUBLE WHILE ON THE REAL FOOD RESET?

That’s what we’re here for.  This is a big deal and challenges will arise. We got you. We will go over how to get the support you need at Orientation.

WHO SHOULD NOT DO THE RE-START PROGRAM?

ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS WHILE ON THE PROGRAM?

There can be some symptoms while doing this program including headaches (dull), lethargy, moodiness, brain fog, cravings, breakouts and mild digestive issues (bloating, irregularity).  This may sound scary but they are typically only in the first few days of the program and so worth how much better you WILL feel by the end.  These symptoms are particularly common if, pre-program, you’ve been eating a Standard American Diet (S.A.D.) or are coming off a major Carb binge (ahem…The Holidays).  We explain in more detail at Orientation what’s normal vs not normal.

WHAT ARE THE BEFORE AND AFTER EVALUATIONS?

As previously stated, there are many better ways to gauge your health than how much weight you’ve gained or lost.  We will look at hundreds of these “markers” together, before and after, in order to evaluate how well this program worked for you, and how to take what you’ve learned with you the rest of the year, and the rest of your life. This can be far more than a one month diet or cleanse followed by going back to exactly what you’ve been doing before, but instead be something that literally changes your life for the better forever!
